Recent Projects

A few of our recent projects you may have seen:

Cape Elizabeth High School Addition and Athletic Field - Located at Cape Elizabeth High School. This million dollar (site work portion) project included the construction of New access roads and parking areas, an addition to the school, and a new athletic field with irrigation.  As usual we completed this job on-time and on budget.

Cinemagic Stadium Theatre - Located on County Road in Westbrook near Exit 46 of I-95. This nearly two million dollar (site work portion) project consisted of moving and placing 20,000 cy of earth, utilizing a lightweight fill material to stay within the geotechnical design parameters, installing a water main extension along route 22,  constructing a 24’ high retaining wall, excavation and backfilling of the foundation through winter conditions, and multitude of storm drainage.  This project is scheduled to open June 2006. This project is projected to be completed on time and within budget.

Woodford Street Sewer Separation and Street Reconstruction - Located just off Brighton Avenue in Portland. This Nearly Three million dollar project consisted of installing new sewer and drainage systems. To make way for this project, existing water and gas mains needed to be relocated.  The street sidewalk and curbing were reconstructed in the process.  This project is scheduled for final paving this summer.  Once the final paving is complete this job will be added to the long list of projects accomplished by GSG on time and within budget.

Windham Athletic Fields - Located behind the Windham High School. This 2.5 million dollar project included the construction of five new athletic fields, a state of the art running track, a new concession building, and grandstands with press boxes.

Presidential View Subdivision – Located on Duck Pond Road in Westbrook. This project consisted of approximately 1 mile of new city street, water main with services for 35 lots, two detention ponds, and multitude of storm drainage.

Randall Street Sewer Separation and Street Reconstruction – Located just off Baxter Boulevard in Portland. This project consisted of Installing new 30” to 60“concrete drainage pipe. To make way for this project, existing water, sewer, and gas mains needed to be relocated. Due to time constraints on the environmental permits there was a very tight timetable on this project. To compound the difficulty of this project the proximity to the ocean forced us to work at low tide only. Even with these challenges, we were able to deliver this project on time and within budget.
