Recent Projects

A few of our recent projects you may have seen:

Moody’s Collision Center - Located on Presumpscot Street in Portland. This project consisted of reclaiming a former concrete spoil dump site by first extracting all of the concrete disposed of on the site. Crushing it with our mobile crusher to turn it into structural fill, placing and compacting the material to prepare the site for the development of the newest addition to the Moody’s Collision group. The sitework is mostly complete and the facility is expected to open this fall.

Torrey Street Sewer Separation and Street Reconstruction - Located just off Ocean Avenue in Portland. This Nearly Three million dollar project consisted of installing new sewer and drainage systems. To make way for this project, existing water and gas mains needed to be relocated. The street sidewalk and curbing were reconstructed in the process. This project is scheduled for final paving this summer. Once the final paving is complete this job will be added to the long list of projects accomplished by GSG on time and within budget.

USM Commons - Located on Bedford Street in Portland. This 3+ million dollar project included the green construction practices and solutions, environmental site remediation, and porous walks which allow rain to drain through them rather than increase site run-off. Scheduled for final completion this Fall, this will standout as a shining example of green construction for all to see.

Portland Jetport Parking Garage – Located at the Portland Jetport. This project consisted of approximately demolition of an existing inadequate parking garage and the construction of a new state of the art parking facility including all the security measures required for today’s traveling public. Scheduled for final completion early 2009

Park North – A new commercial retail, office and residential development located on Route One in Saco, Maine. Park North Development LLC is the owner and developer of this new mixed use project. Currently, the plans for the immediate area included an adjacent 14 lot business park with lot sizes ranging from 1.5 acres to 6.5 acres. In addition, the developer has approvals for 90 unit apartments in two buildings and with 200+/- units of condominium housing developments which will include a community clubhouse, nature trails and other amenities all geared to the 55+ age group, which will be located directly behind these retail/office lots and will share a major access road with this retail/office development. The entire project will have city water and sewer provided to the lots. These different parcels are available For Sale or the owner will be developing the property on a build to suit basis for larger retailers or office users. The scope of this project will markedly change the landscape of this area of Saco. The vision of the developer and the city is to provide a gateway to the City of Saco. The entire property consists of over 236 acres of contiguous land with over 1650 feet of frontage on Route 1 from the Scarborough/Saco town line south.
